Bradley, Foster & Sargent, Inc. launched its
Graduate Assistantship program in 2008. Our
Graduate Assistantship Program is a form of independent
study which offers a graduate student the opportunity
to augment classroom learning by working in a
business organization.
Bradley, Foster & Sargent, Inc. seeks to attract
for its Graduate Assistantship Program students
who are in the final year of their MBA program
who have an interest in the financial management
field and, more specifically, investment management.
A premium will be placed on effective communication
skills.
Graduate Assistants will be given the opportunity
to:
-
Conduct research and information-gathering
activities in support of the on-going business
activities of the Company;
-
Prepare and present the findings
of their research to the firm’s Investment
Committee; and
-
Attend an analyst meeting or
listen to an analyst conference call.
In addition, Graduate Assistants will be
given suggested readings which are intended to
help them understand the fundamentals of the
active and passive approaches to equity management.
Graduate Assistants will be expected to work
8-10 hours per week with a minimum of 100 hours
per semester. They will be expected to attend
Company investment policy meetings, which are
held on Tuesday and Friday afternoons, as well
as work independently from remote sites. All
of their time will be spent on research
and supporting the information requirements of
the Portfolio Managers. A Portfolio
Manager or the Director of Research will collaborate
with each Graduate Assistant on their research
assignments.
Graduate Assistants will receive the same orientation
and training given to all new hires, including
a review of Company policies. As part-time employees,
they are subject to the same privacy policy and
confidentiality requirements as are all other
employees.
